Unless your motor is flowing some serious air I doubt that the motor is making power up that high and if you have a camshaft that will make power that high as well.
What are the motor specs, (intake, cam specs, etc). You'll have to have some serious durration in the cam to be making power at that rpm range...
Most likely you're just wearing your valve train out quicker..
Not flaming, but no need to beat up on your parts like that.
