Fast spinny motor. Could be the teeth on the starter have worn. This happens frequently. I've gone through 2-3 on my Z. Never went through any on my Civic though.

Could be teeth on the flywheel - this sucks, but it's not too hard to get the car started again. Put the car in gear, and push. Then bump the starter again and see if she starts up.
