Euro safety standards are better since the shells are softer thus absorbing some of the impact as it is distributed through the shell...
+1 you are correct....to obtain DOT approval, the outer core must be harder, however, science is proving that the shell should be designed to break or "give", but not separate upon serious impact. From what i understand the British have been making most of the scientific advances and the British standards may be the "best" overall for your real protection...
it still think it looks crazy and i have been wondering why someone didnt do something similar before this....
