I got a run in last night with a brand new white/blue 06 600 GSXR. We met up at an undisclosed location, and made several runs throughout the night.
First run was from 35-40mph. He honks it off, I spin blindly through 2nd and slam the rev limiter. I hadn't actually hit the rev limiter before on this ecu. It feels like it shuts the whole car down. Felt like a brick wall. I couldn't make it into third right away as I wasn't ready for it. He wins. 10 cars.
Second run was another 2nd gear 35ish mph run. I spin all the way through 2nd again, but maintain solidly right next to him. I shift into third and sounds like he gets his powerband, and pulls a solid 3 cars, through third he holds the same, and as I shift into 4th, he gets another 2-3 cars. We shut down. He wins. 5-6 cars
I decide that spinning so violently isn't going to win any races, and my car just doesn't have the ability to out power him at a lower speed. So we go from a 3rd gear roll. 45mph. He honks it off, we go. I brake boost and we're solidly next to each other all through third, when I shift he pulls an instant 2-3 cars, through 4th he gains about a bus length, or a bus and a half. I shift into 5th and the bike stops pulling, but at this point we're already about 140mph, and there's no catching him. I shut down, as does he.
Newer bikes, as everyone said - are WAY faster then the older ones that I had obviously gotten a bite out of previously.
He was a nice guy, we talked for a bit at a gas station afterwards. I was supposed to have someone record the race but they kinda backed out on me at the last minuite, so no video of me getting walked.
When I get more boost, or maybe some spray, I'll have to find this bike again.
And as always:
This is a ficticious story, and it never happened. Maybe
