If so I have a technical question for you.

My Infiniti has the Bose stereo system in it, sounds pretty good but has one odd quirk my Lincoln did not have.

The car is equipped with a multi speaker system, one being a sub in the rear package shelf. It looks to be about 6-8 inches with a fairly good sized amp mounted next to it.

When I have any music with good bass in it the sub will automatically tone itself down as the volume goes up. Is there some way to bypass this ? If not what is controlling this ? The stereo, amp, speaker itself ?

I am looking to replace the sub that is in there with a better one but want to know what the source is for this cutting down of the power to the sub first.
