I'd like to add too my previous comments on BMW.
There are two types of BMW owner: the completely ignorant clueless dont-care-because-it-might-cost-money prick owners, and the gotta-make-sure-everything's-PERFECT-on-the-damn-car, must look and feel 100% new, I'll pay whatever it takes to keep it nice prick owners.
Basically two extremes. Theres those who dont give a damn and once the warranty goes out on it, they'll run the piss out of it then buy a new one...or those who will pay $10k without a third thought just to keep the car running.
There are many more ignorant pricks than there are well-maintained pricks; and it looks like you got a car owned by an ignorant prick. Before buying a BMW (or any car for that matter), do a thorough check-over of the whole thing, anything and everything. Usually you can tell which kind of prick they are by looking under the hood or under the car. If you see any parts that definetly look newer than others, especially if they still have the sticker for the part number on it, then you've probably got a keeper. Its hard to tell, but there are ways.
