i've ran 13-1 on pump gas and it ran fine with which the engine was a 327 and had a .690 lift cam.when running it on 114 race gas i adv the timing 5 degrees..it has alot to do with the cam u are running and the heads

aluminum heads will take a high pump gas compression vs a steel head.
