+2 Can't go wrong with an LS1 powered vehicle. Just open up the exhausts, maybe a K&N drop in, and a few other bolts ons a be happy. It will be reliable and it WILL get good gas mileage if you drive if soft. Sure it won't be as nimble and handle like a Honda or 4-banger, but who cares...is that what your going to do with the car? You stated you want a quick, reliable car thats easy on the gas if you stay off the throttle, but has some balls to it while on it. I had a friend who had a Z28 and he would average around 20mpg to school and back if he stayed off the throttle, not bad for a performance V8. Get an LS1 powered vehicle, it will suite you best. Just don't get a Mustang...
