better than nothing really because any performance parts for SBCs are dirt ass cheap. funny though the 5.7 wasn't available until a few years later so it might be a decent aftermarket swap possibly close to 200HP. if you looked at it wrong and it is a 5.0 then you have a busted ass 145HP in which eliminate all the restricted exhaust and bullshit emissions crap in hopes to gain maybe 10 ponies. after that cam the shit out of it and get long tubes. you can always swap an LT1 for better gains (270 stock) but at the expense of paying out the ass for headers and a new opti. i raced a 3rd gen with a slightly modified LT1 swap and it kept up with me pretty well especially with the 4.10's out back.
