x cam will work on a stock bottom end with the stock heads that have been shaved.460tzille ran a x cam on ported e7 with trickflow valve springs on his old car.they say in the ford books that the stock pistons can handle a 544 lift with a 184 intake valve.but is allways good to double check your piston to valve clearence.i would stick with the e cam my self for that combo you are going to run.i am running a e cam with 1.7 rockers on my stock bottom end ho motor, with my ported e7 heads,that equals to a 532 lift.
