If memory serves the timing chain on the VR6 should be replaced at around 110k, and shops charge around $1000 to do it. You see most VR's for sale around that mark because they don't want to have to pay for it.

The 2.slow isn't that slow anymore when you put a BBM lysholm on it.

I personally would go with the 2.slow, but I'm odd like that.
