OK dumbass, time to get called on that one...Stepped tube headers produce exactly timed rarefaction waves of low pressure through the pipe, ever seen a tuning fork? same principle. Or I could explain to you about the bulk modulas of elasticity principle concerning exhaust flow and how it relates to stepped headers, but I have no clue...Damn me being clueless, well, back to designing cylinder heads...
Bottom line, I try not to be a dick, but dont tell me I have no clue. Im intouch on a daily basis with some of the biggest names in racing engine development and like to help on this site when people need an accurate educated response.
