Wow this thread went off topic real quick. Did you try your volume button? lol. Do you have a stock or aftermarket radio? I know you stated CD/Equalizer which some vehicles come with that out of the factory. Radio might be shot. I would see if someone has a spare radio and connect every to it to see if then your speakers work. If that doesn't work then you will know its not the radio unit itself. Then you can narrow it down to the wiring and speakers. Just a suggestion.
