What does he means by lug? The stud (bolt) of it?
I guess he broke a wheel stud. If so, just replace it. Oh, Epstein, there's no need to remove the brake calipers from the rotors. I replaced mines w/o removing them from the rotors. Just disconnect the brake line bracket on the strut, then simply slide out the rotor with the calipers still on, and move it away. Hammer out the stud, it will pop out. Then slip the new one in, use 5 washers and a lug nut to pull the new wheel stud into place. Then put rotors and wheels back on.
