Running no airfilter will make the car stumble at idle and certain cruise condition because of turbulence around the hot-wire element. I showed JimmyHat this in the parking lot of QSL by blowing into it and almost choking the car out.
Other notable rant points. The RON 98 that they run in Japan and EU is the same basically the same thing as the 93 we have here. We use the RON+MON/2 method of rating octane. The MON associated with any RON number is about 8-10 points lower, hence assuming 10 we get 93. Besides, Shell's Optimax 98 that sells in the EU is the same thing as the V-Power 93 they sell here.
