I know I'm new here :-p but I've put in my wrench time. I don't think there is a real advantage to either side. The entire intake system will depressurize the same amount very quickly no matter where the valve is. My personal preference is hot side, because for some reason in my mind I think that having the "omg too much boost!" safety valve should be before the expensive intercooler. It probably has no technical merit at all, but my .02.
