That's pretty much how I learned on my Camaro.
Simply let out the clutch very slowly, and then as you feel the car start to move forward slightly, ease onto the gas and keep letting out the cltuch until you feel it engage and drive.
Shifting gears is the easy thing to do. Launching for your first time will be the hard part tho.
