I'm not sure what the whole point of this is, but here it goes..
NA is a lot different than throwing a power adder at it.. To get that type of power out of an NA motor, almost everything has to be specific to it's one main purpose, making power, not longevity or economics.
The guys that run Real Street are running low 10's @ either 3100 or 3000lbs with a stock block and a single power adder... takes 550hp or so to do that....
they have a very limited platform to work with too, including a stock block..
I don't quite get the argument on either side...
Everyone likes to throw around numbers here, what most don't understand (other than a few) is what it takes to reach numbers like 600HP, 700HP, etc.
You are not going to attain those power levels cheaply, and if you try.. you will fail..
I (with the help of those such as Joe @ Fordspeed) have built a 600HP+ motor, NA mind you.. It was done as economically as I could without comprimising saftey and quality, but I still spent some coin, I've probably got maybe 12-15k in the car, and I've probably done it the most inexpensively in the class..
Streetable? Not really, but if you expect it to be, or if you think you can make that kind of power out of a small block NA with a stock bottom end and still drive it daily, well you're dumber than you look... (speaking in general terms here, no one start crying).
I don't get the "race parts" thing either, high performance parts are just that.. some are more specific to the application than others, but it doesn't mean your car is any less "worthy" of a street car if it has those on/in it..
To recap..
Can it be done? Sure. Streetable? Who knows? Everyone has their own opinion of what "streetable" is...
if you can do it or wan to try, GO FOR IT!
Who cares what others think/say?
and by the way.... I'm still faster than all of you....
