why would you need to balance a working turbo?


Rebuilding a turbo doesn't always mean you need new turbines.. usally the bearings are what needs replaced and the main shaft gets warped.
However damage can be worse and don't get a turbo thats is trashed. pull one and check it for shaft play. Usually yard turbos are fine and a bad one can be picked out very easy.


When ever you get a custom turbine they are balanced when they are made.

My friend rebuilds them and he has the presses for the bearings and its really not very hard. Its the hybrid turbos that cost tons of bucks to make.
