Like anything else.... create an environment were "they" decide they want to do it.

I screwed up with my oldest son... pushed him too hard.
Learned that lesson the hard way.

Now, I try to lead by example and create a fun filled experience for them.

I try not to focus to much on what I want.... and more on what they need and want.

When it is "thier" decision, they are much more inclined to stick with it and put forth genuine effort.

One day the wife and I decided motorcycles would be a forum to spend time together as a family.
We generated interest with the kids by exposure.
That was years ago and we have had many memories from riding.
