By the way, when I first started autocrossing, I had a pair of wrestling shoes that I used. Then I decided that this is driving around cones, and as long as I'm not wearing steel toe'd boots, I'm not going to win or lose due to my footwear.

PS: one thing you might learn is to keep a rag in the car to wipe your soles off during rain events. I *HAVE* had shoes slip off the pedals during rain events.
