Default Driving Shoes

I typically drive in some old crappy shoes that just happen to be pretty light. However, yesterday I was at Brandon Town Center looking around at the store called Finish Line, where I saw these on sale for $29.99

I couldn't believe my luck. They actually sold a pair of DRIVING shoes there. Unfortunately, that particular shoe is just too narrow for my wide feet. It turned out they have 4 other brands of driving shoes made by Puma, Nike, Adidas and K Swiss! WTF? Who knew that the car culture has become so popular that the youngsters want to shop for driving shoes at the mall? Granted, you can buy some great driving shoes off the internet, but it sure was convenient to try on five different pairs of shoes until I finally found the ones that accomodated my feet properly.

Incidentally, are driving shoes supposed to be super narrow? It seems like the front pads of your feet should be as wide as possible to accentuate "heal toeing"?
