The older 7.3 turbo diesels (stock) are complete dogs next to the 6.0s. I have a 2003 6.0 5 speed automatic 4x4 with 48k miles and it has had no problems to speak of. I also just got a 1995 tahoe 4x4 with a 6.5 turbo diesel.
