I respect them when their infront of me. I give them about 3 car length infront my car. If they get in my lane infront of me, I ease off and stay back to give them distance incase anything occurs.
I really don't like being behind bikes because you don't know what the person infront of the bike is going to do. Like it was stated in this thread people in passenger vehicles slam on their brakes or brake check, I am guilty of brake checking people but that if their riding my bumper for no reason... I just don't go around doing it.
When a biker is infront of me I keep my distance in which I think its safe for me and for the biker infront of me. When I get a chance and if another lane is available I switch lanes. I feel safer with a biker on the side of me then infront of me.
how do you want a biker to give you respect before you return it?
using turn signals? seriously? hand signals?wha?
cause taking you hand off the handle bars for a split second then the cars in front stops short, and i have to grab a handfull of brake. possibably popping it on the front wheel. not all bikers are stunters, i scared the piss out of my self when i accidently endo'd my bike in the mall parking lot.
if anything i dont want your respect i just want you to know that i'm there. you can have you ass out the window mooning me i dont care as long as i see you look over your shoulder 2 or 3 time before you change lanes. i see you look at me in you mirrior. i see you se pissed when i'm 3ft off your bumper, just to click down a gear and ride off right past you. or at night when i'm behind you with my brights on to make sure you can see me, i watch you adjust you mirrior.
stuff like that is what i would like to see more of, and none of that has anything to do with respect.
