those are stock projectors from a 2001+ Mazda Miata. They aren't stock HID, but when I did the conversion after seeing the results I had no reason to switch since the light output and cutoff was extremely good for halogen projectors.

I previously had an older style front end on my car that did not use projectors, but instead used a standard halogen reflector housing with H4 bulbs. I converted that to HID as well using shielded HID bulbs to reduce glare. The cutoff on those was pretty good as well, but nowhere near as good as the projectors. I might have some pics handy, I'll see if I can still find them.
