I then took the car to CFP to see what the deal was and later found out that I have a late model black top (96-98 years) due to the AC bracket being diffenent. I had to get another SR compressor off a motor with the same bracket in order for it to work because not any blacktop compressor will bolt right up. Now CFP did not make any money off me for doing my AC. I did my own AC work so they were not just feeding me a line of BS to make any money.
from what i know you have to have a factory installed k/a compressor. the dealership installed ones dont fit the sr. i beleive i read that on some website and that is the reason why my ka compressor wouldnt fit on my redtop. ill see if i can find were i read that.

DOHC KA compressor usually bolts right on, using 2 of the 4 SR bracket bolts. Dealer installed AC may or may not line up correctly.
why not just use your sr compressor and get the sr lines spliced to the ka ones?
now according to epstein if your clip is in fact a 90-91 i would look into seeing if you actualy have a black top and not just a redtop with a black valve cover.
