Default Squealing Noise w/ new clutch and flywheel

I just had my clutch and flywheel replacted with ACT Extreme Racing Pressure Plate and Organic Race Clutch combo and an ACT Extreme Flywheel. I paid a shade tree machanic to do it and now when ever I start my car within a few seconds a squealing noise, almost like a belt squeal, comes from the tranny.

If I push the petal in the squeal goes away. If I just barely press it, like 1/4 inch or so I can change the pitch of the squeal and if I press a little more It goes away.

At times it seems louder than others and I'm not sure if Its me getting used to the sound or if it really is louder and quieter at times.

I had it done about 3 weeks ago and it has done this since the first day. The mechanic told me that it might be squealing because its a new throw out bearing and pressure plate and the fingers of the plate and the bearing need to wear in a little.

Is this true or did he not grease something he should have??? And if he didn't grease it right is the bearing going to get f'ed up???
