I'm not trying to start a 4g63t vs 420a. I've already owned a 4g63t and had plenty of experiences with it. When I had it already with my last car I was looking in getting a 95-99 GST. I looked probably for about a month and was without a car for 2 months. Didn't have much luck as far as around the $5,000-$6,000 price range. There was some but they would need a lot of work and I was looking for something reliable. Well I gave up hope on looking for one and though I wanted one I wanted some sort of 2g. Because all my previous cars (last 4) have been 1g's. Ended up getting a 1997 Eclipse RS. Its reliable and I don't worry as much as I did when I owned the 91 Talon TSI I had. There's the story behind why I own a Eclipse RS and not a GST or GSX. As much as I want turbo I don't want to deal with the problems again when I need something to take me to work and back. In the future, yes I'm turboing the 420a. But being that we got a house and we'll be moving in about 2 months I want to take on a 4g63t powered project. I just don't like the fact on here that the 420a constantly gets put down. Its not such a bad engine, it has good and bad just like the 4g63t. Without the "T" the 4g63 would only push 135hp which is 5 less then the 420a now without turbo. There's a signifant increase in hp with the 4g63t compare to the 420a out of the factory. 4g63t around 200hp and the 420a around 140. That 140 is @ 6000rpms. Slow yes, reliable yes. Is it worth dumping more money into it then you would a 4g63t... no. I'm doing it for the simple fact that I miss turbo and I would like to take on a 420a turbo project just to see my comparison between the two and my old TSI. The simple fact of people calling me a DSM noob when I've probably owned more DSM's then the one's calling me that is funny to me. I've owned the 1.8, 2.0 non turbo, 2.0 turbo, now the 420a. So I've owned 99% of the engine's put into these vehicles. The only one I've yet to own is the 4g64 from the Spyder, but I've test drove one. JDMevo is not here to argue or start debates. What everyone's or most problem is you don't like the fact that I stick up for the 420a. Hey its what I drive, I'm not going to down something I drive. There's no fun in that and I like my car even though its slow. Nissan forum doesn't seem to have this problem with people owning SR's and other owning KA and wanting to turbo the KA vs going with the SR. Were all into the same cars, you don't see me going around putting down the 4g63t just because I own a 420a. I've owned a 4g63t and had my experience just like everyone else. If you don't like the comment I posted earlier well I got furious because of smartass's on here. Weeks have gone by and I've let a lot of things just slide and didn't let it bother me but this got ridiculous. If you haven't noticed I get offended by shit like that especially if its regarding me and my car. Then of course I get e-jumped by friends of friends on here. Its funny when something is out there and it doesn't concern some people and they jump all over it and make things worst. I apologized a month or so back and I thank those who were man enough to accept my apology and say they were wrong of things they said as well. The rest of you seem to hold this pety online grudge. Well get over it... I shouldn't have to apologize everytime especially when I get offended one way or another. I'm wrong for things I've said and so are many other people in Mitsu Tech. Were all into the same cars, instead of critizing the 420a and its owners you should get a long with them and be friends. Us 420a owners don't go critizing 4g63t owners.
I agree with what Dario said. A 2g GST was not in my budget 2 months ago and if it was I would be driving one instead of a RS. But 2 months without a car already I couldn't go any longer and started looking for other 2g's either GS or RS, GSX were way definately out of my budget and price range.
