The question has been answered several times already. People drive the turbo car a lot harder than the 420a car the reasons are obvious the 4g63 is just plain fun to drive. Then you have bad previous owners who do not keep up with the maintenance and then you have others trying to make something work instead of doing it the right way. Yes a newer turbo eclipse is going to cost you money, but you can get lucky and find a decent car with lower miles that is a virgin. When you find that you will have found yourself a reliable car. Because more often than not someone who has an eclipse and it is unmodified just bought the car for the looks and not the performance. My car has been very good to me yes its a 99 yes it was expensive as hell yes I have black leather but it gets me from my house to my job every single day and even to the track and back every other weekend. But on the flip side I take care of my car people laugh at me sometimes because I don't shift as hard or as fast as I should when I'm racing but the fact of the matter is that I I want my car to last that's why I do what i do and i make sure to stay on top of the maintenance too.
