In my head, I always thought that 2G crankwalk went hand in hand with them being assembled in the Midwestern USA. All of the EVOs are like 99% assembled in Japan, which to me means higher quality manufacturing.

More on topic- the WRX engine bay is scary compared to the inline 4, although many subie owners Ive talked to say it isnt so bad. You may want to consider this if you plan on wrenching yourself.
