depends on how severe the motor problem was. There are numerous possibilities, usually the ringlands go on the WRX ....also rod bearing failure. Sti's are a different story, usually STi motors don't blow to easy. That being said, if it is a shot STi motor the piston walls are probably scared up from excessive failure and probably piston and rod bearing issues
