why is it a suprise that its fater then a combustion engine? Most eletric cars have a quicker 0-60 time then cars. Even underpowered. You gotta remmber with combustion your dealing with gas's,liquids and alot more metal to get moving, eletrical you can pretty much hook tthe engine directly to the tire and bypass everything else needed. Not to mention eletric currents are faster then any gas or liquid can be, Also there is the possiability to use fiber optics to send the signal and Speed of light > then all in speed.
