Here's my list of MODS:
-8.8:1 Ross Pistons
-Billet Crower Rods
-625cc injectors
-aeromotive fuel regulator (pressure set at 20)
-SAFC
-PLX M-300 Wideband
-Turbo-Back Exhaust
-EGT, Oil pressure Gauge, and Boost
-20G Turbo @ 16lbs of boost
-msd spark plug wires/ngk spark plugs
Plans: I want to boost at 20 and get a 350hp result... right now i'm getting 284.5 at the wheels.. He tried tunning it for more boost i guess the radiator couldn't handle it.
Here's the thing... When i first put in my turbo kit with factory internals and everything else factory my car had 215hpw. And it felt it had more power than what i have now.
Problems:
1. car runs rich ( which i know it's better than lean) but it smells like gas everywhere i go.
2. cruising speed in 2nd and 3rd needs to be tuned better. (it bogs a little)
5th Gear is where i get my best result... When i'm in cruising speed in 5th gear, then i floor it, it picks up great! But at any other gear, it doesn't.
Funny thing I noticed about the stock 420A and a built one was when add the turbo, you really do feel the boost kick in. From what a reliable source has told me was because of the stock compression being higher. I dont know if I agree with that but that may be a possibility.
Now if you are smelling gas I would check for a fuel leak somewhere. Rich burnt fuel smells but it doesnt neccesarily smell like gas unless you are pouring 1/2 your tank out through the exhaust. My first instict is to say its the injectors being too large and I am basing my information on the numbers located here :

When I get home tonight I will look up some other things I have what other info I have that may help.
