Opinions dont mean shit in the real world
What the f*ck? When did opinions become worthless? That's like saying a hypothesis doesn't mean anything. I don't live in a world devoid of worthwhile opinions.
This, however, is a reasonable claim:
the problem with the whole 6 bolt/7 bolt discussion is that the opinions of everyone has been heard and the hearsay has takin over.
And, I believe that's the point to be made. If this discussion is to be of any value it ought to offer arguments not unsupported claims.
The original post was an invitation to Jerry address the retort of the dsmtalk members. However, if you read the NABR thread, most of those points have been addressed. I don't know if Jerry has an interest in arguing his position with uninformed individuals.
If you want to understand the issue, do your research. The secondary sources are an
okay starting point, but you must understand and either validate or discredit the claims being made. Of course, if you don't have 7-bolt bottom ends to work with, it's going to be very difficult to prove any hypothesis, but it is possible to discredit them.
