Just to refute the stupid things brought up on DSMtalk. I didn't contradict my theory when I had the cranks tested for hardness. Go do it yourself if you want. The rockwell tester is a huge machine. looks like a press. It has a diamond tip that is rammed into the surface of the metal. the tip pierces through the nitrided layer. Proving only the crank hardness below the surface that the bearings ride is nearly the same. In short the rockwell tester is not what is needed to compare surface hardness. Beside we are not even talking about hardness but a resistance to abrasion. Brass is far more resistant to abrasion than steel yet it is leaps and bounds softer. Nitrided cranks are far more resistant to abrasion.

The second one that is equally stupid. Low oil pressure is causing the problem! Yeah right. How come the center main is always fine? Plenty of oil there. How come peoples oil pressure gauges dont show a difference between 6 and 7 bolts? because there is no difference. oil pressure is the same between the two blocks.

Last one. The bearing is what is failing! These are the idiots who are just repeating what other idiots are saying. I have seen two crankwalk victoms with the crank cut so deep you could make your finger disappear. yet the thrust bearing was nearly still complete.
