why is gas mileage even being talked about?

trust me I love all cars, if it's fast, its fast doesn't matter what motor it is in what kind of car. some honda people in here (not all and they know who they are) are just being completely irrational, I'm sure this guy that everyone and his mother are bringing up is fast, but why does almost every honda guy have to find a fast guy to nuthang off and use as an example EVERY TIME. build a car, make it fast, make it do what you what it to do and be your own example, prove it can be done yourself. no need for a thousand hands to hang from one sack. I have respect for anyone who can build a fast car no matter what the platform or circumstances, but people who just talk about what they can do or "will do in the future" (we all know how often we here the "wait til I get XYZ motor swapped in" or "get my [insert random power adder] in") are just sad IMO...
