Sounds like it will be fine. A good idea however is to clay the block. Enginelab can do this for you, for a not-so-bad price, and it's a good way to double check the calculations, as nothing is better then a real world test. IIRC SOHC's are non-interference motors, so you have some lee-way when it comes to this kind of thing.
