Below in the picture is Ed Bergenholtz, one of the founding fathers of Honda drag racing. In this picture, he has just finished reassembling his motor after the rings let go, and he's standing on the motor, holding the throttle, bouncing off a 2500rpm rev limiter (think two step). Definately breaks every rule in the book about breaking in an engine!
Side note: the car ran a 9.1@16x on the next pass - unibody car

Breakin is only required for selected new components and surfaces.
If you just tear down and properly reassemble a motor it needs no break in whatsoever. Its already broken in.
I see no rules being broken here.
