APRIL 15th Ocala Speedway
APRIL 22nd Orlando Speedworld
These events are going to be run the same way so I'll only say it once.
Entry PER DRIVER is $25.00
This is a pit cost and is charged by the RACE TRACK to cover insurance of people in the pits.
Spectator, who wants to be in the pits with the drifters $25.00, same deal.
Spectator, who wants to be in teh grandstands only. $12 Ocala, $15 orlando.
**these prices start at ~2pm (pit pass and spectators) everyone will clear out and have to pay to go back in. IF they run their tracks like PortCharolette**
These prices seem high, but you are seeing the whole night... Midgets, Fastkids, FastLateModels, FastDrifters, FasTrucks. +more?
All of these costs are the track, Bobby is making 0 dollars from the drifters or their crew or their friends.
Drift practice will begin hopefully right at 8:00am.
These events will be Competitions and be on OVALS, lets work with what we got fellas.
Morning, afternoon sessions (totalling about 4hours of GOOD track time) will be for practice and qualifying. Those who qualify (number depends on how many people show up) will be driving in the Drift FEATURE race at about 9-930. This is right before the MAIN race, so the crowd will be at max. The competition is set to have a Low and High level (2 brackets) if possible with number of participants. Both having a seperate competition for about 30-40 min each.
All of the crazy requirements, insurance, gate, safety, medical personnel- is taken care of by the track, its what they do. Thats why these events are available and FSF didnt workout.
HERE IS THE KICKER:
without YOU this event will indeed be less than it could be. we need drivers to even have the competitions. We need atleast 8 or so drivers to hold a decent competition, with qualifying the last part of the 'early session' you will still get lots of track time without qualifying for the Feature later on.
DOULBE KICKER:
there is no prize atm for first, second, third or anything. The event is $25.00 to get into the track and FREE to drift. we are ALL getting a prize there. Now if all, or maybe just those who qualify, want to throw in a 10 or 20 into a pot for the winners to split, then so be it. As of now we don't have any right to ask for prizes with such a low cost event, with plenty of seat time.
We CAN get this series to be awesome and respectable if YOU come out and help at the event, giving your cyber 2 cents isn't helping as much as being there. The first event (the only one so far) I went to, I helped influence how the track was setup, how we would do the show, what we needed to do afterward. I didn't make the call, but my words did open ideas and make some changes. Each event will get better, don't expect FormulaD right away.
There is no driver limit that i know of, qualifying will limit those in competitions (Low and High level). If we don't get many for both we might make it one comp. That depends on you.
It's a good idea to sign up (incase a limit is set) but PAYMENT, seeing how it is the track, will be made DAY OF AT THE TRACK.
If you ARE seriously going to come participate, please email me at
