Most of you guys have to realize, track time costs money...that will never change. If you want 'shops' to come pay a bunch of money so you can get $20 track time, dream on. I mean Shift-Lock's events are only like $73 or whatever, that's a freaking awesome price for seat time (eventhough it's an oval, but you get what you pay for).
Would you rather go pay $150 per event in California? No, most people here would throw a little hissy fit and make childish posts about "THEY JUST WANNA MAKE MONEY BLAH BLAH BLAH". There are people that gladly pay $250+ for track time at REAL tracks like Sebring, Road Atlanta, VIR, etc. Are any of you willing to do that? No, because most people here somehow believe track time should be cheap.
So here's what needs to happen.
A) You guys need to wake up and realize that quality track time at quality venues costs real money. Accept that fact, sac up and shell out the cash required for good tracks.
B) Stop complaining about not having tracks, having bad tracks, not having enough events, etc and just be happy with what you have instead of passing the blame onto other people.
You guys are lucky to have events period. If you think it's easy to setup/organize/promote an event, maybe you should give it a whirl. Rob busts his ass up there in Orlando so you guys have a place to practice for a killer price. MRanlet is busting his ass for DG to get awesome new venues and has some KILLER shit in the works that will be announced super soon.
So stop complaining about the drift event status of FL unless you're personally out there taking steps to improve it like the above mentioned guys.
Also, if you're thinking "this guy Kyle is a total dick" that's fine, I am a dick. But I unfortunately know what I'm talking about. Many old schoolers in here can vouch for me, what I do, have done and my knowledge on this matter.
