Kind of eerie, as this crash is rather reminiscent of the crash that involved Alex Tagliani and Patrick Carpentier. Alex ended up losing both of his legs, but lived. He still races today using a car that is modified with hand controls.

Patrick Carpentier made it okay in the crash (just had a little back pain) and has recently been on the Indy Circuit and was in Champ Car/CART prior to Indy.
