You can but why? You would just be better off buying an E36 or if you must have an E30 swap it into a 318 or 325 not an M3. The E30 M3 was never about having a ton of power or torque it was about balance, did you not read the artical above?

E30s have pretty much bottomed out in price I doubt a decent example will get much cheaper. While you can pick up an E36 for a fairly decent price now. Two totally differnt cars though, the E30 was a true product of Motorsport, the US E36 is nothing more than a warmed over 325is.
