The two mph difference between you and your boss makes a HUGE difference. Most cops won't pull you over unless you're doing > 10mph over the limit.

As far as him remembering you... it's not surprising. He had to fill out your name/dob/dl #, etc on your ticket. I'm pretty sure they do additional paperwork besides the ticket to document it should you fight the ticket. If you had to fill out that much paperwork, you'd remember his name too.
