Phone rings: Hello...Yes sir...you're really happy with the work we did...thanks...and you really have a lot of respect for our shop...wow that's great...now scrapin_honda will care!!

Seriously, man, I'm not sure where you are coming from with that, and I'm not sure who exactly 'anyone' is that has to have respect for my shop in your eyes.

You don't know me, and I don't know you, but know what? I've got respect for you. Know why? Because I have respect for anyone who has a passion for their hobby, and who sets goals and acheives them. Based on your posts, you are obviously passionate, and it looks like you have set goals for your system, and have attained them. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about those goals...they are yours, and yours alone.

I actually have a lot of respect for SPL competitors as a whole. Anyone who thinks you can just throw a bunch of stuff in a car and be competitive, doesn't know much about it. These guys have it down to a science. They have to, as .1 DB can win or lose. Sure, their stuff doesn't always sound good, and look pretty, but it serves a purpose. Kind of like jet powered funny cars.

Personally, I prefer sound quality, but that's just me.

I know Bubba and Ethan, as well as Mike Powell from Radio Active. They are all great guys. I've also met Alma Gates, Mike Jones (not the rapper), and a guy you may have heard of named Virgil Williams (this guy is like the father of SPL contests). For you sound quality guys, I had lunch with Richard Clark and Lucio Proni once. Does that make me special? No. Smarter? Maybe. Lucky? Hell yes. Should you care? Probably not.

My comment about coming to the meet to settle this was just a comment, and a blatant plug for the meet. I never said you had anything to prove, and I won't have any less respect for you if you don't show.

Maybe I haven't earned your respect...I've been into car audio for almost 19 years. I've been both an Iasca competitor and a judge, and I've managed to open my own business, and keep it open for over a year. Maybe one day, I'll put out something that you will respect, maybe I won't. But until I earn your disrespect, I think you're out of line.
