TAMPA - A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night when he crashed into a westbound Nissan Maxima on the Courtney Campbell Parkway that turned left in front of him at the boat ramp near Ben T. Davis Beach, police said.

The unidentified motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on the causeway alongside another motorcyclist when the car turned in front of them.

One of the motorcyclists was able to avoid the car. The other hit the Maxima’s right rear passenger door. The motorcyclist was killed on impact, Tampa police spokesman Joe Durkin said.

The driver of the Maxima and a passenger were not injured.

The eastbound lanes of the parkway were closed and westbound traffic was restricted to one lane while police investigated the crash Saturday night, Durkin said.
