I do agree that Harley has fallen back in terms of perfomance and technology. Harleys are little more than overhyped chunks of chrome. I remember watching the dirt track clips of harleys going and actually being used in races, now Harley has completely abandoned being competitive and has restricted itself to a small, elite market. There isnt anything special about Harley Davidson. If you can find any stock harley that comes close in terms of performance, looks, quality and craftsmanship to say the Honda Rune or Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 or even a triumph or BMW cruiser, than I would change my mind, but its pathetic when Harley puts a 50-60 year old cast iron lump and charges 20k+ for the "right" to own a HD. American automanufacturers got the hint when they were getting their asses kicked around on the stock market, unfortuanatley the motorcycle manufacturers have not done the same.
