Edit - You guys sure spend a lot of money on maintenence. I'm at 23k miles and I'm on the stock drive belt/pulleys, stock primary chains/sprockets, stock clutch, and stock tires still. I change the oil every 5000 miles with Amsoil synthetic, which takes 5 quarts or so. I can pick up a case of Amsoil, which is 12 quarts, for ~$70, and filters are $10 if I buy the fancy chrome ones. I also have to spend $5 on gaskets when I change the oil. I'm about to buy tires, so I'll let you know what those cost, but I'd imagine not very much.
yep we have really soft tires and chains that take a beating to keep up because they are the smallest and lightest that will stay together(i took off a 532 that would last forever and replaced it with a 520 that won't. just because i wanted to)....... as for oil most change it often because it makes shifting smoother(2k-3k ish)... all that = able to be riddin harder and wear out faster and cost more to replace.
wouldn't trade you for dubble what it costs to ride mine thou..... I'd just drive my car, i don't need to think i look cool. i want to enjoy my time on a bike.
