if it's for a daily driver your going to be in the rpm range (most of the time) that a turbo will still be spooling up, and if your cruising and then want to punch it to get around someone you'll have the lag. For instant power the JRSC is the way to go it makes boost instantly, but is limited to around 10psi. to really have fun with a turbo on the street you have to have your foot in it most of the time, from light to light, which draws attention to your driving and attracts cops. the vortech unit is just a pulley driven turbo and they make them for upwards of 22psi, however it is still going to lag like a turbo. the vortech does have one + over a turbo, no heat soak from the exhaust side, which means your charge air will not be getting as hot, making cooling easier and more efficient.
I had a blast with my turbo setup, but for what I wanted to do I should have gone with a sc and built the motor up to take advantge of the power increase ratio of forced induction.
