the vin code and the chasis code are diff. the vin code tells you alot more than the chasis code does. The rear wheel drive '84-'87 rollas weather they are the GT-S, the SR5, or the sports deluxe(basically an automatic SR5) all have the same chasis code(ae86) but differ when it comes to vin codes(ae85, ae86, and ae88 ) but in japan they came with two slightly different chasis the ae85 and the ae86. The ae85 was not as structurally sound but the ae86 of japan had the same chasis as the US...... sorry for getting off subject but i hear people make these same mistakes all the time.......
