My car is like that too. I'm sanding down the entire base coat. Then seal it, base it, and clear coat it.
Well you need to sand down the paint if youre going to clearcoat it, so why not just remove the shingle stage paint entirely?
Seal it, base it, and clear it is the way car paint jobs are suppose to be done.
